Orange cat dumped in mobile home park finds purrfect furever home thanks to resident cat lover who couldn’t bear to see him exhausted and full of despair, rescuer says: ‘Love you, Red. May you enjoy your new home, you sweet beautiful orange boy!’

The trouble with cat lovers is they often have a house full of felines already. So when they come to save another cat things get tricky. After all, adding a new cat to your home is much simpler than finding a home for a cat you just saved. But for this feline rescuer, it was just another day saving feline kind one cat at a time.

Peoples' devotion to cats continues to impress and amaze us. With each passing story we grow more and more enamored with the kind people who step forth to save and improve a cat child's life. And this story from Reddit's r/cats subreddit is one of the more endearing examples of a dedicated cat lover that we have come across. So dedicated in fact that she was already housing 7 sweet souls in her home, all of whom had been injured or abandoned and were without a home or shelter.

Of course this meant that when a freshly dumped orange cat landed on her doorstep her hands were tied. Beyond providing basic checks and some food she was unable to give this cat the life it so deserved. But unsatisfied with that option, our rescuer stepped up and took things a step further to ensure that this sweet cat would never know another night on the streets. Finding him a furever home was never going to be easy, especially with limited vetting capabilities, but with a lot of effort and searching the right family was found and this fur baby never knew loneliness another day in his life.


We wish that all abandoned cat stories could end this way but unfortunately that is simply not how the cookie crumbles. And so it is upon us cat lovers to remember to do what we can to support people like this story's rescuer, as well as shelters and rescue organizations. So that one day no cat shall roam the streets without a home.

  • Oh noooo, poor Red. what sadness that would be to return from a terrifying experience at the vet where you have no idea what is going on. Only to be returned to the same spot you were initially dumped in. which in itself was a traumatizing experience. We can only hope that somehow this cat lover manages to find someone who can even temporarily house this feline.

  • Stories like this are all too common. And they are especially heartbreaking because they sit on the cusp. On the thin line between a stray cat who will slowly become less and less tolerant of hoomans, and a house cat who could still find a family and home to love. But unlike most other cats in this situation this feline has got the backing of a cat lover who will not rest until she has secured some sort of arrangement for him. What a lucky boy he is.

    UPDATE! Red is SAFE and in a forever home! He no longer will be living on the streets. No longer will go to sleep hungry, have to worry where his next meal will come from, where a safe place to rest his head will be, protecting himself from predators and cruel
